Wildfires in Oregon and the Impact on SOOR Mission

Wildfires in Oregon Impact on SOOR Mission
We understand that many of our SOOR family members lives are being affected by the forest fires that are burning throughout the state of Oregon, northern California and southern Washington. Our prayers, thoughts and hearts are with all our athletes, volunteers, families and communities we serve. Over the coming days, please let us know if you hear of any SOOR athletes, volunteers or families that have been directly affected by the fires (evacuated, property destroyed, losing a loved one, etc.), so we can reach out and try and support where we can. Most of all, we hope you and your families stay safe over the coming days.
Delay to Fall Virtual Games:
Today, we were set to launch our 2020 Fall Virtual Games (FVG) online and mail registration. However, we have decided to delay the Fall Virtual Games mailing until next week, so not to burden our athletes, Local Programs, volunteers and family during this time. Our online registration is now active and if you are in an area where you feel you and your athletes, families, volunteers are safe and would like still promote, please feel free to share this link with your athletes and coaches: www.soor.org/fallvirtualgames. We will keep you all updated on all things FVG over the coming days, but we want to reiterate that this is not a current priority for our athletes and volunteers this week.
Resources:
SOOR will be sharing some “Wildfire Safety” resources for our athletes and families via our social media pages. However, in the meantime, please feel free to share these links on your social media pages:
