Become an Athlete
Athlete Application for Participation / Medical Form - You must have a valid Athlete Medical form on file before participating in any Special Olympics Oregon events, practices or competitions. A new medical form must be completed every three years.
During times of COVID-19 - Please make sure that you complete your Medical Form and the COVID-19 Waiver and send back to your Local Program. These documents will be valid for three years.
Winter Season 2022
We are planning a winter season. Stay tuned for updates.
ATHLETES must turn in their completed medical before you can participate. Have them in by the first practice but no later than January 16, 2023.
COACHES - make sure to complete your class A application and let us know what sport you want to coach.
We plan to offer the following sports dependent upon availability of coaches and volunteers:
Coach: Emily Collins
When: Skills is at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings; Rest of teams will be either Saturday or Sunday (refer to schedule from the coaches).
Where: Skills at Roseburg Christian Academy; Rest of teams held at UCC gym.
Regional: Medford, March 18
Coach: Jill Fummerton
When: Thursday evenings at 5:00 – 6:15 p.m.
Where: Buckeroo Barn for dry land, Willamette Pass for snow practice.
Regional: Date to be determined.

Class A Volunteer
All volunteers who have close contact with athletes or who handle the financial assets of Special Olympics Oregon must complete a Class A volunteer application. This includes coaches, chaperones, Unified Partners and Local Program Management members. Volunteers need to complete the Class A Volunteer process which includes an online application, background check and online trainings.
