Become an Athlete

ATHLETE APPICATION FOR PARTICIPATION / MEDICAL FORM

You must have a valid Athlete Medical Form on file before participating in any Special Olympics Oregon events, practices or competitions.

  1. Complete and sign all four pages of the medical form.
  2. Make an appointment for a physical examination with your doctor or licensed physician.
  3. At your doctor's appointment, have your doctor fill out and sign the Physical Examination section at the bottom of page one.
  4. Return this completed form to your Local Program.
  5. We recommend making a copy of the completed medical.

A new Medical Form must be completed every three years.

Class A Volunteer

COACH - UNIFIED PARTNER -
LOCAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT TEAM

All volunteers who have close contact with athletes or who handle the financial assets of Special Olympics Oregon must complete a Class A volunteer application. This includes coaches, chaperones, Unified Partners and Local Program Management members. Volunteers need to complete the Class A Volunteer process which includes an online application, background check and online trainings.

Click on the link below to complete the application and trainings.  The system will automatically guide you through the appropriate training modules for adults and minors.

Sports

SUMMER - It's Time for TRACK SEASON!

Curry athletes are PUMPED for STATE GAMES this year. We'll be working hard to train and compete at Regionals and State.

When:

 

When:   Saturdays - 10 AM to about noon

Where:  BHHS (Brookings Harbor High School) track

Starts:  April 13, 2024

  • No practice May 25
  • There will be 2 practices in June after Regionals to get ready for State; dates to be announced later

What you need:  shoes for running and a good attitude

  • You also need a red team tee shirt—if you don’t have one, let me know right away
  • Sunscreen and a water bottle are good to have
  • You’ll need non-denim shorts or sweats for both Regionals and State

Regionals are June 8 in Ashland

  • Details about motels and meals will be announced later, when we know

State Games are July 12-14 in Corvallis

  • All details for State will be announced later, as soon as we know

WINTER - BASKETBALL

basketball iconCurry Wildcats had a great basketball season!

We got in shape, practiced skills, got great tips from our coaches and tried out some 3-on-3 action. Our practice venue was pretty cushy this year, thanks to the local LDS church.
