Mandy Dyer

Introducing our Bocce Head Coach for Team Oregon
Mandy Dyer is a coach with the Benton County local program of Special Olympics Oregon. She has been a head coach, assistant, and been a Unified partner for bocce ball. She has done pretty much the same for swimming. Mandy is a key volunteer for Oregon.
Having made so many life-long friends during her volunteer years, Mandy’s eyes have been opened to the world of Special Olympics. Seeing all the athletes grow in their sport and watching them build relationships within and outside of the organization has made her very proud. She is looking forward to coaching a new team this next year and meeting people at this Games from all over the country. She has participated in USA Games before in New Jersey and Seattle, Washington – both as the Head bocce coach.
Mandy is an inpatient pharmacy tech at Albany General Hospital and is often challenged in balancing her very busy schedule and time. She’d love to volunteer with SOOR every day if she could. In addition to her job and her Special Olympics activities, she also volunteers at a local nonprofit, adaptive horseback riding program and is a member of her Sheriff’s Mounted Posse and Search and Rescue.
Mandy plans to meet with her bocce team and practice with them as much as they can. Her Special Olympics friends are like family now.
