Freezin’ February

Oregonians have a longstanding and beloved tradition of Plunging into frigid waters every February to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Oregon. The event in 2020 raised a record-breaking $500,000, which positioned the organization to quickly pivot its programming from in-person sports to creating virtual content (even receiving national accolades for the quality) to ensure athletes are fit, healthy, and socially-connected throughout the global pandemic. With safety of the athletes and Plunge participants as a priority, we won't be gathering to Plunge together in 2021, but there's the good news: Plunge 2021 is going BRRR-tual!

Join us as we 'BRRR...tually' Plunge across Oregon!

Use your imagination and BE SAFE!

Have a buddy or lifeguard if you are plunging in bodies of water such as a swimming pool.

The in-person Polar Plunge is safe because we have a professional dive team in the water and emergency responders on site. Do not do anything that could physically harm yourself or others. Special Olympics Oregon is not responsible for any injuries that occur while participating in the Virtual Plunge.
